Frenchay Afternoon WI Events
Coffee Morning - Wednesday 16th April 10.30-12.00 at "Aqua at the Park"
Held regularly on the third Wednesday of the month, this is just a casual get together with no need to book ahead - just turn up and enjoy the opportunity to chat with other members in an informal setting. We are once again at the Rugby club at Shaftsbury Park on Frenchay Park Rd BS16 1LG which is now catered by the Aqua restaurant chain.
Do come and join us.
Summer Lunch at the Holiday Inn, Filton
As the January lunch here was so popular we are proposing to have a similar event on Tuesday 1st July (instead of our normal meeting). Full details will follow later but please save the date if you are interested.
Frome Valley Group Events
Spring Meeting - 8th April 2025 at Jubilee Hall, Bradley Stoke
This year's Spring Meeting will feature a presentation from Gideon Ashworth and Fiona Thornton from Barts Spices and Infusions. Tickets cost £6 to include tea/coffee and cake.
Summer Outing - 8th July - Goodrich Castle and St Mary's Church, Kempley
The Group summer outing on 8th July will be to Goodrich Castle and St. Mary’s Church, Kempsey (there
are12th century wall paintings inside the church) . Tickets cost £23 to include coach travel, admission to the castle and a guided tour. Refreshments can be purchased at the castle.
Anyone who can show English Heritage membership on the day will pay a reduced amount as the castle is one of the Heritage monuments. The coach’s first pick up is at Downend Coop at 0930, followed by Winterbourne Coop, returning at around 1630 - with a possible stop for refreshment at Tintern on the return journey ( time dependent).
