Group Outing to Llancaiach Fawr Manor and The Welsh Parliament building
This year it was our turn to organise an outing for the Frome Valley Group. We chose to visit an historic Welsh Manor House where we had a fascinating tour led by guides in character and costume relevant to the time of the Civil War. This was followed by a light lunch and then it was back on the coach to Cardiff Bay. Here, some folk decided to explore what the area itself had to offer and the rest of us visited the Welsh parliament Building, known in Welsh as the Senedd. The guided tour was very informative but the star of the show was the building itself with its use of local slate and the amazing organic appearance of the wooden roof.
